The renowned explorer, seaman, gastronome and oenophile, Admiral Bird, master of the legendary trawler SeaBird and re-discoverer of the Northeast Passage, has completed yet another voyage in his never ending quest to discover the known.
The voyage began from Seabird's home port of Longboat Key, Florida on April 22nd, proceeding across the Okeechobee Waterway, up the east cost to New York City, thence via the Hudson River, Erie Canal, Lake Ontario, Trent Severn Waterway, Lakes Huron and Michigan to Chicago. From the windy city southward on the Illinois, Mississippi and Tennessee rivers and Tombigbee waterway to Mobile, Alabama. Then around the Gulf Coast back to Longboat Key. The voyage covered some 5000 statute miles and took 7 months to complete (including shore leave).
